US Trademark Filings

The latest US Trademark Applications are out, and make for interesting reading! Of the 1,200 odd applications filed, here’s a few you might find interesting! You can click on any of the pictures below to enlarge.

TESLAQUILA TRADEMARK APPLICATION

Back on 1 April 2018 Elon Musk made an April Fools joke about being found surrounded by bottles of Teslaquila. Well that has taken on a life of its own. In May 2018 Tesla Inc applied for a trademark in Mexico. Now, it has applied for it in the US.

Some man for one man.

Incidentally, the US lawyers have applied for this trademark based on the priority of the Mexican application. However, the Mexican application was for Teslaquilla (with 2 ‘l’s) and so actually this US trademark application will have to be amended or it will be refused (I think).

According to the application details the G is “depicted as a burger bun sesame seeds”, which I can’t really see!
